If you visit or take a walk to any fashion shop in town, you would find dresses, shoes, bags and other fashion accessories of different brands, sizes, colour and prices. If you tarry there for a while, you’d discover that different customers, who come in there, buy different types of those products.
The same thing happens in the world of relationships, love, sex, and marriage. Different women, for example, love different men. In other words, they differ on their choice of men.
However, inasmuch as no two women have the same choice of men, except by coincidence, there are certain types of men that are a common denominator to the choice of most Nigerian women.
Below are the 13 types of men that fall withing that group:
1. Men Who Genuinely Love Them
Most Nigerian women love men who genuinely love them; truly and dearly. Men who love them more than they love the men. Men who love them from the bottom of their hearts. Men who are ready to condone their excesses, including their innate nagging nature, as well as their naughtiness. Lol.
2. Trustworthy Men
Another quality that endear men to the heart of most Nigerian is the expensive and scarce commodity called TRUST. They love men who they can safely and confidently vouch for on any issue of life, anytime and anywhere. Men who say what they would do and do what they say. Men who they can safely and confidently beat their chest and say: “He’s my lover,” “He’s my husband,” and “He can’t do it.”
3. Patient And Understanding Men
Most Nigerian women always look out for patient and understanding men for several reasons. One, because they know that patient men, with an understanding spirit, are cool-tempered, and never irascible or easily provoked. Two, because they know that most patient and understanding men always have good listening ears. And three, because they know that understanding and patient men are most unlikely to be violent and/or susceptible to domestic violence.
4. Non-Loquacious Men
Most women, with the exception of my wife, are generally known to be talkative, yet they don’t like men who talk loquaciously like them. What an irony of life!
In other words, Nigerian women like men who have absolute control over their mouths. Men who watch what they say and where they say it. Men who cannot be called ‘basket-mouth’, which Nigerians call anybody who talks too much and carelessly.
“Any loquacious man,” remarked a Nigerian female banker, “can say anything, anytime and anywhere, including the gory details of the sexual intercourse he had with his girlfriend or wife. Such a man cannot be trusted to keep love or sex secrets. No reasonable Nigerian woman or women in general, would want to keep such a man as a lover or as a husband.”
“A man who talks too much,” corroborated a female lawyer, “can put his lover or his wife in trouble. I don’t think any serious woman would want to waste her time dating such a man, even if he has the cash. A ‘basket-mouth’ man is like a timed-bomb that is waiting to achieve its purpose of destruction”
