After some years of being married to Ada, her husband, Tony, discovered that the passion he once shared with her was fast waning. In a bid to restore it, he decided to consult a marriage counsellor, along with his wife.
After several appointments and consultations and without a solution, Tony became worried and began to doubt the professional competence of the love doctor.
Sensing the disappointment and gloom in Tony’s face, the marriage adviser said to him: “You need nothing less than a permanent solution to your problem. That is why I’m taking my time to come up with the solution that is best for your challenge.
“I’ll proffer you such a definitive solution by Monday, three days from today. So, just go home with your beautiful wife and come back with her on that day. By then, I shall have decided on the best solution to offer you.”
Tony nodded his head reluctantly to the counsellor’s promise and left for home in utter disappointment, holding his wife by the hand.
Throughout the days preceding their next appointment with the marriage counsellor, Tony was simply not himself. He was blatantly discouraged and sad.
When the next appointment date finally came, both he and his wife prepared expectantly and left to see the relationships adviser.
After they had exchanged pleasantries with the love expert, at the reception lobby of his office, he left them there and left for his office. A few minutes later, he invited them into his office.
Soon after they took their seats there, the relationships counsellor stood from his seat and walked to where Ada sat. On getting there, he stooped as if he wanted to whisper a word to her, and kissed her in the mouth.
As Ada responded fully with a smile and like a scene in a romance movie, the counsellor pulled her up her chair gently and began to kiss her more intensely, while pressing her firmly to his body.
“You see,” remarked the counsellor to Tony, who was still smiling at what had just happened: “this is exactly the treatment that your wife has been craving for. She must have been missing it. She needs it all the time. You’re lucky that your marriage is still intact because things as small as this had cost many couples their marriages in the past.”
“Thank you very much, counsellor,” complimented Tony with joy radiating all over him. “The problem is because I’m not always around. My work entails a lot of travelling, and that’s why I’m not always around to give it to her.
“Since I’m not always around to give her exactly what she wants, would it be possible for me to ask her to see you at least once in a week while I pay you for such service?”
“Mmmm, I don’t think I’ve ever offered any of my clients such a service because of my tight work-schedule, but because of your peculiar case, I may consider your request.”
“Are you giving me your word?
“Yeah!” replied the love doctor, concealing his excitement and interest.
“How much would that cost me?” asked Tony”
“Since I’ve not done the kind of job you’re requesting from me for any of my clients before, I don’t know exactly how much to ask from you. How much can you afford or are you willing to pay me per week for the proposed service?”
“Would you mind N10,000 (ten thousand naira)?”
“No, make it N20,000 (twenty thousand naira),” demanded the relationships expert.
“Ok, I’ll,” concurred Tony satisfactorily before leaving the place with his wife.
